Staff profile
It comprises of one Public Health Officer and six support staff that are mainly concerned with preventive medicine.
Activities
- Vector control: Control of pests such as bedbugs, cockroaches, flies, snakes, bees, mosquitoes, rats etc.
- Food control: Ensuring food safety through; receiving food items that are of quality, hygienic preparation and service, having medically fit food handlers etc.
- Sanitation: This involves ensuring that our environment is fit for habitation through solid waste management, elimination of breeding sites for vectors etc.
- Health Education: This entails educating the KU community on disease prevention.
- Disease Surveillance: This involves monitoring of disease trends among the KU community and recommending the necessary actions to be taken.
Location
The office is located at the Directorate of University Health Services.
